Oh man, i gotta hear about SPAD when i have no work happening(joys of construction). I gotta choice, feed kids, buy plastic....hmmmm well the kids are getting bigger and might revolt, so the coroplast has to wait.
I did have half a good idea the other day. This iisn'treally SPAD but i do believe it is in the spirit. I made skis for a balsa trainer from plastic laundry hamper lids. They half worked too, took off beautifully, but soon as i made a left turn i realised i shoulda rigged something up to keep the tips of the skis up, cause the one on that side flipped down caught air and cause a "terminal Left turn".
I guess that half a good idea is not necessarily enough

But a sheet of coroplast (48" by 96") costs about $10... maybe just have the kids miss one meal at Mcdonalds...
Also, go hunting for free signs at variety stores, etc... its there for the asking.
SPAD's is all about cheaply built planes that fly great. Plans are free on the net, and it sounds like you allready have the radio gear from your other plane....
