"Real" model airplanes smell like model airplanes, sound like model airplanes and....

what next.. some sort of device you bolt onto the exhaust to try and quiet that awesome noise???

seriously though, how could ANYONE not love that glow fuel smell - especially coming from a Cox 049 engine. Now THAT brings me back a few years....

Then again, I LIKE the way model diesels smell too....

Ahhh that wonderful smell

I'm glow exhaust smell lover myself! It's funny, Andrew mention the smell from a Cox .049 bringing back memories and that is exactly what I was thinking about when I opened this thread! Freezing my hands in the winter flying my old free flight .049 planes. Most importantly, loving the smell of the exhaust! The memories.......!
Howzitgoin' eh?

The bad smell......... our field is usually not nitro, but a combination of beer and pizza from the night before and NO additive could kill it. Definitely not roses nor bubblegum.
Seriously, don't we have enough stuff in fuel to foul plugs and gum up cylinders now? If it was a viable product, fuel manufacturers would have added it long ago.
