Much bigger that Victoria class yet just under a Soling class size boat. Sounds like it maybe a kit or home built
Never mind I am sure it will be fun to sail.

If you want to see more, google AC 45 Catamaran, or AC 72 Catamaran.
That is just wild!!!! I never in my wildest dreams thought sailing could be like that all I can say is fantastic!!

Re: sailboat just looking

i was checking out some RC Catamarans on youtube, and that video came up on the side. I couldn't believe it either. There are two classes for the cats, 45 and 72. The 45s don't have the foils, but are still pretty impressive. The 72s are totally insane... 72 feet, 45 feet wide, 7 tons and they are up out of the water!! WOW! The current speed record for one was over 40 knots! Put that on your bucket list!

Re: sailboat just looking

It depends on which side you are on! I bet the boater said I was the jerk, going boating with a rifle, spoiled his day.

Re: sailboat just looking

I guess that in Medicine Hat you would carry a rifle with you wherever you went, for bear protection right? Because you wouldn't really take pride in heading down to the lake with a scoped rifle and threatening other boaters would you? You probably wouldn't be too vocal about it afterwards, and probably wouldn't post anything about it on a public forum either? You may be right, the boater may have said that you were the jerk.

Re: sailboat just looking

Most animals in B.C. won't attack a full grown man unless they feel threatened and Grizzlies are smarter than your average bear but far less friendly. Just the same, if you carry a rifle into the woods it's one thing but when you pack it in a public place you are asking for trouble of a whole different kind.

Re: sailboat just looking

Ummm, please forgive an old guy for becoming a tad confused, can someone please explain exactly where within this "RC Sailing" thread did the subject matter take a sharp left turn into a Cul de sac where its seemingly mutated into a hunting/rifle/wild animal thread.......I'm lost !

Re: sailboat just looking

Go back to the first page and read the last three posts. You'll see where it comes from.

I would suggest that we get this thread back to sailboats, and keep it there.

Re: sailboat just looking

Has anyone had any luck with scratch built sailboats?
