Watched part of a Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea episode. Campy, I know, but grew up with this stuff.
Lo! There was the infamous "Flying Sub" diving full tilt boogie to switch from air mode to submersible. Anyone that has hit the water with any speed on will likely cringe or laugh every time they show that. Belly Flop anyone?
It got me thinking and went off to do a search. Lots of info on subs, models and PC sim entries, but nothing on any actual RC models.
Curious if there had been any attempt to make something with the aerodynamics of a doorknob actually fly. Also figured this one would be a hit at any scale event.
I know there's money in aviation........I put it there!

Re: Flying Sub?
Anything can be made to fly. Unfortunately. some can only fly in one direction.... Straight down..LOL
The proverbial flying brick.
It would be cool if someone rises to this challenge. Maybe something made out of foam like the RC Enterprise or the flying lawn-mower.
