Re: Tofield Fun Fly 2016

Hi Jeremy
I have got a room at the Beaver Hill Motel 780-662-3396. Basic motel. No restaurant with it but there's a good one in town that we go to. You could try there that is the only one I have stayed at there other than the Holiday Inn Express in Sherwood Park.

Re: Tofield Fun Fly 2016

Well looks like I'll be coming for the event after all, the rc show at the Edmonton airshow is cancelled because of insurance issues... Maybe next year!

Now 7 days and I'll be burning a ---- load of kero!!! I better go to Canadian tire to buy 10 or 100L!

Re: Tofield Fun Fly 2016

Andrew....That is certainly a bad news/ good news scenario about the airshow. I was able to be part of a full size airshow many, many years ago and it was incredible.

Good news for us though, glad to hear you are attending our fun fly, I always enjoy your company.

On a bright side there is a dealer on the South East corner of Edmonton that has bulk kerosene at half the price of Canadian Tire. Issue is you can only get it Mon thru Fri from 7:30am to 4:30pm. Or go diesel, I have been running it this summer with no issues.

Re: Tofield Fun Fly 2016

Hi all Looks like I'll be heading up for the event as well and bringing the Fifth wheel along for my accommodations. Does anyone know if fires are aloud at the site?? weather it be wood burning or propane fire places. I just want to be prepared for everything.

Also will there be a dinner or anything going on this year or just plan to fend for ourselves everyday?? I remember there was one years ago but not sure about that anymore.

Thanks and see you all soon in a couple days.

Re: Tofield Fun Fly 2016

Hi Steve,
Glad to hear you are coming up for the fun fly, always a good time when you are around. You certainly kick-up everyone's flying skills a notch.
We will have a campfire on site, I will be bringing a pit. If you would like to add to the wood pile please do. We just have to be aware of the full size fuel browser and not be too close to it for obvious reasons.
As for the Saturday night supper we lost our sponsor a couple of years ago so we do not plan on having an official supper. May ask the pilots on Saturday then bring in pizza if everyone is agreeable to tossing a few bucks into a kitty.
