Just my observations from other users that have had issues. There are many local users of Spektrum systems that have never had issues and many others that have . I have used Spektrum and was not impressed with it and sold my radio after one year. To me, systems that are sent back to Horizon Hobbies for "fixes" in high numbers don't cut it. I don't count those repairs needed from dropping the radios and have broken pieces to fix ; those are user induced issues not design issues..... Everyone has their own like and dislikes so will leave it at that.
Len, sounds like a rant to me....the guy just wanted to know how to get 2.4 with his 8103

Re: 2.4 Gig

Sorry but it didn't start out as a rant initially as I only gave other users and readers alternative choices as did Couger with what can work if modules systems aren't in their radios.

Have removed "my rant" Everybody happy , I hope ?

Re: 2.4 Gig

I do have the JR 8103 Tx and have converted to 2.4 using the Spektrum module.
The latest version is DSMXV2 Air module (SPMMSJR720) with Rx; it's $154 at GH. I believe it allows the use of both Spektrum DSM2 and DSMX receivers - but not JR's latest DMSS receivers. The problem is that I have broken 2 antennas at its base and it doesn't fit into the smaller JR Tx case - having to remove it each time after use. The module has worked well. I have 2 with a 3rd arriving soon.

Re: 2.4 Gig

As stated by many. If you want Hitec 2.4(solid), Spektrum 2.4(DSM2 module from Spektrum), DSMX from Hobby King, FRSKY(solid) from Aloft, etc. etc.

I have a djt frsky module I could sell for $30 plus shipping.

The Orange is DSM2/DSMX. The Spektrum is only DSM2. That makes the Orange superior in this case. Overall both products are mass produced in China and the DSM2/X is still based on one of the oldest chipsets in the industry.
