Bigger is not always better. In Jets bigger means more power needed, more fuel to carry, and more weight. As such, any bad landing is most likely going to damage a retract, break a wing etc..and if your field is grass as opposed to a nice paved runway, and it is not rolled nicely, it is going to cause some problems.

Keep in mind that a 42% Edge or Extra will weigh 35-40lbs, however, it has a much lower wing loading than a 40Lb jet. Besides, the heavier the jet is, the more time you need to slow it down.

I personally prefer a jet in the 15lbs to 20lbs range.

a big, EXPENCIVE kitty! Guessing ~2 flights out of a 10L Cdn Tire jug, plus cost of turbine oil, WOW...

Depending on the sources in Kamloops, that could be a run-rate of $12-$14 per flight in fuel alone! Dean should charge people to watch!
