Im thinking about getting a lithium battery for my hummingbird, but im not sure what to get. I have the triton charger coming so I will have a charger. But should I get a 2 cell or 3 cell? Do I have to do any mods to the battery holder to take the lithiums? Do the lithiums come with the jst leads? What brand should I get? Thanks.

I think that with fixed pitch and the stock motor or similar, you can use something like the 2s 1200 E-techs. This is what I am using. There are exceptions, but generally speaking people go to 3s packs for high head speed with collective pitch setups.

You would be better off to use the Deans micro polarized connectors.

You'll have do make something to mount the battery. I extended the front with a thin piece of FRP sheet tied to the lower longerons. The LiPos are lighter so they need to stick out farther to balance the heli.

I am using a Thunder Power, 2 cell 7.4, 2100mah and it works great. It made a big difference in my flying time.

well... Recon and i finally got a Lipo battery 2S 1500mah and holy crap i can fly it for half an hour. It's amazing. I have it held on with one elastic band. lol. and the balancing is exactly the same as with the birdseed batteries. Makes me happy and now i can teach my dad to fly before the battery dies.
