Hi guys. Fairly new to rc cars. Have a brushed e revo, just wondering what the best brushless system would be? Does castle creation make a brushless system for the 1/16th scale? Thanks

Re: 1/16 e revo brushless

you might get away with fitting a 1/10th scale castle system in their or a vileneon brushless 1/16th scale system

Re: 1/16 e revo brushless

Do you have an older version with the 380 motor, or the newer one with the 550 motor?

The 550 sits higher up in the center, the 380 sits lower down off to one side.

If you have the 550, any 1/10th scale brushless motor (540 size, 36mm diameter) will fit. If you have the 380, you need a 380 size (28mm diameter) motor, and it can't be too long or it'll hit the rear shocks.

fixing a more powerful motor would be very cool but wouldn't drain the existing chassis. would you need to upgrade to other parts in order to prevent breaking things. just wondering as I am also interested.

sorry a couple of spelling errors there , what i meant to say was would the larger motor strain the existing chassis or other parts that are built for a smaller motor.

Re: 1/16 e revo brushless

They'll easily handle most brushless motors without issue. I ran my old MERV (bought used, with lots of use) on a 4300kv 540 brushless motor on both 2s and 3s batteries. On 3s it would back flip under power and front flip under braking, but the drivetrain held up great. I was running a locked center gear (no center diff) most of the time, with the center diff it would just unload all the power through the front wheels.

Re: 1/16 e revo brushless

Mine takes a beating and keeps on going. It won't break even when I want it to.
