Looked up the colour chips on Google, printed them out and got the satin finish tester bottles of paint, custom mixed at Home Depot. Very convenient as you get enough to paint several models for $3.97 a bottle. I thin the latex paint roughly 5 parts paint and 1 part rubbing alcohol. This makes brushing it on much easier and nearly eliminates the brush marks. I use a 1" Purdy's sash brush which is really nice.

The grey, although dries identical to colour chip, seems a bit darker than the photos, I might get another bottle and redo it a bit lighter. First, let's see if the darn thing flies.

Will paint the radome and the trust tubes a much darker colour once the base colour dries for a few hours.

I am already thinking of a bigger one ......... Twin 90's keeps coming to mind 😎 The wife is going to kill me.

Spend the afternoon painting away, all paint brushed on, no spraying so clean up was very easy. Not going to apply the decals or panel lines until the model has its maiden flight. But it still looks pretty good for a foamy.

Rear view, the single thrust tube is almost unseen after applying flat black paint.

Re: Semi scale Mig-25 Foxbat, 70 mm

Tonight I decided to remove the retracts and the wooden mounts. Patched up the holes with pieces of foam blocks. Then had to relocate the EDF unit forward so I can balnce the airframe. The retracts, wires, mounts tip the scale at 12.5 oz.
I know the model would have had sufficent power with the retracts but I wanted this model to be a light flyer, and a little forgiving.
Also, made the decals and applied them. Didn't add much to the appearance, but what the heck. If it flies well, I might sit down and mark on panel lines and some other scale details.
