Things like how to eliminate air leaks by using fuel tubing around the needle valve assembly or making a card-stock gasket for the backplate ... etc.

I didnt see you were from the USA Will, sorry - yes you will want to see about joining the AMA, not MAAC

If you browse the RC Universe website, they have a listing of many US clubs and instructors and you should be able to locate the nearest instructor to your location.

Good luck, and the most important thing is to have fun This is a great hobby, just approach it one step at a time.

thanks so much for the advice. i will definitely look at all these options and find a local flying group to connect with. i have looked around on the net and there are so many options that i think i should take my time educating myself. who knows, i may even get a Spad

ill keep you guys posted on my progress. It will be a few weeks before i can really start doing anything, though, because i am in college and far from home at the moment.
