Ok guys, I wouldnt have believed it without seeing it..

Yesterday at our club, there were quite a few members out flying, as well as a number of new members. One fellow brough out his brand new Nexstar - that new Hobbico trainer that comes with an OS 46 engine, Futaba radio and pilot assist, and a simulator. Well, the new guy (who had previously never flown a plane other than having 3 short flights on a buddies duraplane this past winter) got me to have a flight, and trim out the plane (which flies great by the way). Then he says "ok I'm going to try now"... I thought Oh my god, this cant be good. I really didnt want to see the guy smack up his brand new plane!

To make a long story short, the fellow started up the engine, taxied out to the runway and proceeded to take off. He flew an entire 10 minutes doing very well, and then approached and landed the plane (on the first attempt!!) He by the way did NOT have the pilot assist turned on! I was amazed. It seemes he flew the sim quite a bit, and he obviously had a lot of confidence in himself. I stood right beside him the whole flight expecting him to become disoriented and ask for help, but he did awesome. This guy is going to be one heck of a pilot!

That to me was simply amazing!

Probably another of these young fellas with excellant eye- hand coordination, great depth perception and confidence born of youthfulness. I know I shoulda gotten into this hobby about 30 years ago.

Scary how good some of these guys are "right ot of the box" as it were.
