When I have any kind of mishap, I always sit back and take the time to look at the situation and take time out to contemplate what I can gain in a positive way from this! You did that and see, you learned not to fly while angry! Another note on the positive side is that you can be thankful that you only hurt your plane and not yourself or someone else!!!!!

Your accident Salty, is something that will strike home with a lot of us. I have broken a few planes while flying in a "mood"! I usually take two planes to the field with me and from experience, I have learned not to fly the second one right away if I crunch the first one, because more times than not, if you break one, your being upset will cause you to deck the second one!

This is a good thread and worth contemplating what could happen when flying under less than ideal mental circumstanses. It took courage to tell us this but you did so to help others to learn from your mistake. Thats positive thinking!!! Thanks for sharing this experience with us Salty!

I spent last week with my wife telling me that it was time for me to go fly, and set aside Sunday as The Day. As it turned out, the weather went for a dump, and I couldn't. We had a great day together (as EVERY day goes with us), and it was just as good as going flying .

She seems to think that I deserve this treatment, and I am eternally grateful for her understanding. If you generate conflict by going flying, then you have larger problems than just flying. Were you a modeller before you got married? Some of the cure is to take her into the golf center and check out the price of clubs etc, and what the cheapest course is in the area (c'mon dear, let's go golfing ) or fishing gear, or bike stuff, or any of the other popular hobbies around. What on earth does she consider a reasonable hobby, both for cash outlay and for pure relaxation? Are you supportive of her hobbies and time she spends on it?

Man, I've been there, I ain't there now, and I'm a happy man
