If you think you can handle the slightly more difficult semi. sym. trainers then I would go with the Avistar or Hangar 9 Arrow. Theyr'e basically the same but the Arrow can be bought as a complete package for a great price. The Evolution engine it comes with (.46 ball bearing) and JR radio are excellent performers and quite reliable. Both planes have the semi-sym. wing. Both are simple fuse designs which make them easier to fix than the Eagle 2 and the LT 40. Expect that you will crash your plane so as a beginner you need something easier to fix. The Nexstar looks like a million bucks but is very difficult to rebuild due to its complex construction. It flies no better than the other trainers you mention. If you will fly once or twice a week, you won't need a flight sim. as you will probably learn quite quickly.
A more expensive radio is great but if you feel you'll be flying your trainer for a few years you can easily get away with a basic one and have plenty of fun. You will probably not outgrow a basic radio for at least 2 flying seasons as it will take you a while just to be able to fly basic manouevers, even then a basic radio will still only be used to half its potential. If you can afford it then I would buy a 6 channel computer radio.
If it isn't Baroque don't fix it.

Get the Avistar ARF or Nexstar. Pair that with an OS .46 AX (Or FX if you can get your hands on one). The Avistar is good because it has some areobatic capability so its good if you don't have the time or money for a second plane after you get your wings..

Get a radio with a buddybox toggle switch instead of a button. Sometimes the buttons can jam. I lost my Superstar that way.

If you can afford it, get the Nexstar. It is a wonderfull trainer, it has a first class engine, it is big, & it looks very realistic. After you think that you are bored with it (& that should take quite a while, since it has lots of power & a semi-sym wing), you can remove the dihedral, with a bit of work, & away you go again. It is even large enough to handle a .61, & without dihedral that makes it quite a flier.

In addition to the afformentioned (& very good) Avistar, the Hobbico Superstar is also a first class trainer & it can be had in a complete package for a remarkably low price.
