I was out for a flight on my aresti. 40 this morning and ran out of fuel. There is zero wind today and I wan't to go back to the field this evening with my little ugly plane. My question is can I use Cox model fuel in my O.S. .25. I had this fuel for my .o49 control line but it got beat up pretty bad so I have this extra can of fuel kicking around. Thanks Daniel :

Hi Norm,

isn't the COX fuel just a higher nitro content? Might be too high for your existing engine but just check oil content and nitro percentage to get a better indication

Nitro content

All I can find on the back of the can is "Super Power All-Purpose Model Fuel" "50% more nitro than most standard fuels for maximum flight performance and ease of starting. Ideal for radio control and general SPORT flying."

If I remember right the Cox fuel was around 35% nitro. You could use it but make sure you are not lean. Make it very rich otherwise you could burn up your engine. Also it will be hard on plugs. For the cost of the Cox fuel I would by an extra jug of the regular.

The newer Cox fuel (they used to have a few different nitro percentages) is only 15% or maybe 20% - its no longer 35% atleast if memory serves me correctly.

I would say yes, its safe to use but with a small can you wont get too many flights in on a .20

if its got a wing or two and an engine - I like it!
