Where to buy Ext540T

Does anyone sell the Extreme Flight Edge 540 profile in Canada? I was looking for a good plane to practice 3D and it seems to fit the bill. I hate buying across the line though, such a pain in the @$$! If not, maybe you guys can recommend something available that's just as good. Oh ya, how about motors for the 40 size 3D's? OS 70Ultimate, Saito 80 or???

Thanks for any help you can offer!

I emailed them directly an this is the answer I got ...

Hello, we do not have a Canadian distributor, but we regularly ship airplanes to Canada via USPS. Thanks for the inquiry.

If you do decide to order it south of the border make sure it is USPS and not UPS. UPS will charge you about 50$ for handling and brokerage fees. I've been burned on that in the past.

I myself have a Hangar 9 Twist with a Saito 72 and a Great Planes UCD 46 with a Saito 100. Both planes fly really well but the UCD would probably be better for the 3D stuff. However the Twist with a Saito 82 would be a wicked combo. My Twist with the 72 hovers at about 70% throttle. It's got lots of power for 3D stuff. The Hangar 9 Funtana 40S is also a really nice plane and I'll probably end up owning one fairly soon. I've also heard that the OMP profile planes are really really good 3D profiles although I'm not a big fan of profiles.

As far as motors go you gotta go with a 4 stroke. I would stay away from the Saito 65 or 80 due to the weight difference between the 65 and 80 versus the 72, 91 and 100. I would probably get either a Saito 82, the Saito 100 (if your really power hungry) or a YS63. The OS's are nice and i've never owned one but they are heavier than the Saito's and the OS 70 Ultimate is quite a bit heavier than the Saito however I have seen several of them work really well. My first choice for 40 size 3D would be the Saito 82 (or 100) with a 14x4W APC prop on 15%. My second choice would be the YS63. That's what i would do based on my experience. good luck with whatever you get.
