Go to cdn. tire and ask for the motorcycle catalog. Before you go measure your battery compartment where you want it. I bought one to size a few years ago (12A) and have no problems. If you don't have a charger they have a 1A also. I found the 7Ah was not enough for me.

The gell cells sold for RC use are usually 7ah (amp hour.)

Here is the Great Hobbies link you need for all the sealed batterys.]=Search

shipping will be expensive , try a local electrical supply. They sell 12v batterys for emergency lighting. Also if you have a surplus store, you may find one there.

The batteries typically sold for use in field boxes are the same as used in emergency lighting systems, alarm systems and such. One of our local security system installers stocks them here, price is $23.00 each. I own a computer store, we use these batteries as replacements for UPS systems. These are sealed and won't mess up your field box/truck if they tip over. Very often UPSs get tossed in the dumpster because the OEM batteries are very expensive. A dead UPS makes a fine charger for your field box battery.

Don't forget Princess Auto and similar surplus places as sources for gel-cells.

In 10 years (on-and-off) of RC, I've had two gel-cells from Princess ... total cost for both about $15. I went crazy and spent $9.99 on the current one three or four years ago.

How about this idea for those with deep pockets, a pair of Kokam's latest large capacity LiPo's connected in parallel, nah on second thought they need to fly!
