we.re not worthy..............

Andrew that is outstanding news!! ....not only that someone we all know breaks into the model media.....but now Tom will have to double the size of FLY RC because you have so much good stuff to stay

The sooner you fall behind, the more time you will have to catch up.

Marc, yes and no. It depends upon the engine and a few other things. SOme go on to other projects for the magazine, some go back to the companies that supplied them and some will stay with me.

I appreciate all the well wishes guys, you know I am not a "writer" so to speak (being a science-head all through my school years) but hey, I graduated grade 13 English and I did my fair share of reports and such in 6 years post secondary school, and thank god for the spell checker! I am a bit worried how people will take to my style, but there is only one way to find out, wait and see. Like I said before, just be kind, OK?

I will say, working with Tom is a real pleasure. He really wants to know my input and basically let me formulate the structure of how I will do the review. I will say, we will be taking the "standard engine review" to another level not seen in any other magazine. Its going to take a few more to get "settled in" so to speak but I will try my hardest to write a review that speaks to guys like you and me, who are wondering if they should buy this product for their next plane.

Like I said, its still all very overwhelming and I imagine it will take me many more months to get in the groove, and relax a bit.

Way to go!

Now when I see one of your articles I can say to folk "I met this guy (very) briefly at BoQ and I think he's a together dude, so pay attention to what he writes!"

Can't wait for the mag to hit the stands.

I had the opportunity to meet you at BofQ but i decided that it would be a little weird to walk up to you and say "Hey my name is Ted and I read some of your posts on RCC." So I didn't, but now I'm thinking that I had the opportunity to meet a celebrity in the making. Man did I miss out.

Enough with the sarcasm. Congratulations on your new occupation. To me being an engine review columnist is a little more challenging than an arf reviewer. There is much more technical data to obtain and its not as easy as saying "it flies nice". Its a big bite to chew if you know what I mean but, I think your up to the job just from the posts I have read and obviously lots of other people do too.

So good luck and I will be sure to introduce myself next opportunity I have.

By the way do you need any help with this new position. I have heard of magazines often combining an airplane review with an ongoing engine review to present a "package deal" to their reading audience....lol. I'm sure I could find the time to do some building and flying for a magazine but only if the money was right...couldn't do it for free....lol.
