Sale at Princess Auto

Hi ; did you see that Princess Auto has a 38cc (reconditioned motor)

powered Poulin chainsaw on sale for $100 ?

It has no chain bar.

The ad even says "Also makes a good hobby motor"

The sale is on until the 25th of July.

Basically, you:

- remove unwanted metal and plasit parts that are not needed on the airplane conversion.

- shave down the fins off the flywheel on a lathe

- make up a prop adapter for the crank, allowing a prop to be attached to the engine

- make up some sort of mounting

- usually, replace the stock walbro carb with a two needle, larger bore carb that will allow a higher rpm/more power.

- fit a lighter weight muffler, like one from Bisson.

Well, the carbs are available through somne of the companies that cater to the conversion market (there are two or three or more) and also through small engine shops. However, you need the part numbers usually unless you want to route through old stock and parts that many fixit shops usually have.

I pick up carbs whenever I can, and they allways come in handy
