HobbyZone Crystal

Hi guys,

A friend of mine has run into a problem with the flight pack in his HobbyZone Commander, and we've narrowed it down to the crystal.

The main problem we have is that the HobbyZone birds come standard with an integrated circuit board where the lone servo, receiver, crystal etc. is soldered to. I don't know if anyone's ever attempted to replace the bad crystals on these things before but...

I'd really appreciate any help at all!

Thanks in advance,

Chris R.

replacing crystal

Last summer when my brother and I were just getting into the hobby, his first flight was straight up and straight down. The plane would not fly after that but was in go shape. So he just ordered a new fuse and went back flying. We were running on two different channels so we could fly together. After that I crashed mine bad, and got looking at my brother's plane and found out that the tail had just popped out of place so I cut the side out of the plane and swapped crystals between the two, and it works just fine. That was with crystals of different channels but from the same type of planes. Sorry to be long winded but I wanted to explain. Hope this helps.

Here's links to other people who have had the same crystal problem and solved them with changing crystals.

Any know where to obtain a crystal other than another Hobbyzone product?
