I built my first plane when I was about 17 (Im now 41) it was a kadet mk2 and parts of it still try to fly with various results. I did have a trainer and didnt actually crash for the first couple years .but it did get away once on my trainer and a farmer found it in his field about 6 miles away a month later. about 5 minutes work and i was flying again. its been through a lot . I really messed it up last year (ask vulcan1 he was there teaching me all over again because i hadnt flown for about 8 years, I said here John fix it but it was to late) so now it is a coro hybrid. I think the longest flight i have had with my coro kadet lately is about 30 seconds but im working on it . I have a new BUHOR that is still in one piece it really flys nice.

I crashed my second plane during my second season of flying. I think it was just dumb thumbs, and it was a write off. My trainer is still flying, I use it for aerial photography, and might eventually try it on floats, its an lt-40. I have only done minor damage to it while training. Recently I have ripped the gear off of my extra 300, but I will have that fixed up this week hopefully. Im still quite busy with work and full scale flying, my rc's have been neglected for about 3 weeks now.

Well if you include my first flights with my Aerobird (my first plane) it took about 3 seconds after my first takeoff....learning on my own. beyond that I bought an Electra Jet, that took me about 4 flights to re-kit that puppy. Looked like a gray mushroom cloud of foam in the middle of the field. Quite entertaining for the onlookers I understand.... When I moved to Nitro, it took me about 3 months to get my wings and another month or so to crack my new Florio into two pieces on take-off.....left all of my crash switches up on high rates by accident...oops... Many lessons to be learned...
