I just finished building a rack to carry 2 planes to fit in the back of my minivan... works very well. I also built a rack in my dungeon(pardon me, "workshop") that stacks four planes one on top of the other. Used 3/4 inch PVC.... simple and cheap and gets me more room to build more!!

These caddies are great.Only question I have what the heck is the difference between the white and black PVC pipe, other than colour? Second question is where can one find a decent selection of the white stuff in the Moncton area?

I think the white is PVC and the black is ABS...plumbing wise, PVC is for supply lines and ABS is for drain/vent lines (?)...I'm not much of a plumber, so I could easily be wrong. I don't hink it matters which pipe you use for a rack, just make sure you get the right cement for the right pipe.

As far as getting it, you should be able to get it at Home Depot, maybe Canadian Tire, or any building/plumbing supply store.

It also comes in grey!! Used for electical conduits I think. Home Depot has it and most other flavours you might like. But as CP140 says just be sure you get the correct glue. Check with the sales clerk! Also if you plan to do alot of cutting spend a little extra and get the ratcheting PVC-cutter! Make good straight clean cuts and there's no pesky PVC dust - unless you're working outside where it doesn't matter. Depending on the size and weight go from 1/2" to 3/4" to 1" sizes. They're all pretty cheap. Just buy 25% more than you think you'll need. Assemble it without glue first and if all works then stick it together. have fun!
