okay now this may be a stupid question...but is it possible to get wing-tip smoke ? like have a tube going to each wing tip? or does it just come out of the muffler?

That's a good question and one I've thought about too. Wing tip smoke would be cool. But is it technically possible to get smoke to the tips, coming from the muffler of course. You would have to divert some exhaust to the tips. Feasable, I don't think so. Imagine the plumbing involved. A simpler solution is to use a smoke bomb. Light it up and fly. Colors are available too. I've seen this arrangement on a full size sail plane but I am not sure if a small version for us is available. Perhaps someone more knowlegable on this subject can share their wisdom.

wing tip smoke

There was an article in rc modeler about 10-15 years ago, the guy used i think a byron cap 21)not sure though) with a foam wing, he ran copper tubing throughty the wing and insulated it, then had piping run to the exhaust, when th ewing was attached the tubes joined using a silicon coupler, from what i remeber it worked but not so well, as the smoke, died out as it hit the cooler pipes going through the wing, like i said it was a long time ago that i remeber seeing it.Still i have thought about it too, maybe using some kind of wire wrapped around th epipe in th ewing to keep it hot, but haven't had time to try it.
