I work in and use my 2 car garage as a building area and storage for my equipment all year around and have done so for years. Many of my planes I use on a day to day basis hang from the ceiling. All of my radios stay in the garage all year long. Temperature in the garage ranges from sweltering in the summer to below freezing in the winter. In the winter I heat the garage to workable temperature just about every day. This means in the coldest months the inside of the garage especially the airplanes hanging from the ceiling will see temps from below freezing to the low 60s. I leave all my electronics in the planes. I have done this for years and there are planes that have many many flights on them with no problems. I do use heavy duty servo extensions and gold leads and have never seen any black wire disease. When I do fly in the colder weather I have noticed it seems my batteries are in better condition because the radios stored inside a cupboard in the garage see less change in temperature than someone taking them in and out of the warmth. Also my batteries are charged in the cold as well. A few of my planes once stored will not fly till the warm weather again and they stay in the garage also. I just fully charge them when I hang them and once and a while check them with the voltmeter. In the spring I cycle them a few times and they come right up to snuff.
