Tired of carrying five different tools kits and radio boxes (Glow/Gas/Electrics).

Looking for some of your ideas for a great flight box design.

Maybe we can all learn from each others ideas/mods/photos.

Thanks, Mark

Re: Flight Box Design

I started flying again in 1996 after retiring from the workforce.( I flew as a youngster, until I hit the workforce at 16) Then it was no fly time. I started with a store bought box, soon I built one, then another, until I had around a half dozen that were not what I wanted. Some were to small Others were to heavy when loaded with what I needed. and now I am back to box No.1 from 1996 and I make it do! I do not need a whole store to fly a day, I take out maybe three planes that I have covered by my tool box. I think I have adjusted to a different attitude in 20 years . Hope this is useful to your tool box question.

Re: Flight Box Design

I use a Sig Fieldboss, as in the picture. I've cut both ends off to make 2 smaller boxes. Its big and heavy if left in one piece. Now my tools stay in the van until needed and all the equipment I need to fuel and start the plane go to the pitts with my planes. Having 3 nice sized drawers is nice, plus the large top tray for my tools. Cheers Floyd
