Hello; I just got a GB Chipmunk from a fellow flyer. I have quite a few 4 strokes available to me, so what would be the perfect engine for this plane? I have 2 Saito 65's, two Saito 80's, a Saito 100 twin, a surpass 70, all not doing anything now. What do you guys use?

I tried the following motors on my Chipmunk: OS 61. It was ok but a bit lazy. It was also very hard to maintain solid knife edges. I then installed a ST 90. It was better but this motor I have is not fully reliable so I had a few bead sticks. Knife edges were pretty good. Now I installed a brand new YS 110. With this motor I love the plane. I modified the rudder so it's bigger and I have unlimited vertical. Depending of the type of flying you are looking for, the Chipmunk is on the heavy side and requires power. I saw one fly with an OS 46. It flew but it was slow.

The bigger the better.
