Motor mount angle 101

I'm in the process of refurbishing an 1980's Pitts special with 48" wingspan.
The firewall doesn't seem to be angled to the right or down. I've seen a drawing of another vintage Pitts that apparently has the motor shaft 1/4" off center to the port side but the original motor on mine was obviously dead center.
Should I make a mod here and how do I determine what those angles should best be at?

Re: Motor mount angle 101

This aircraft usually requires 1/4" of down and 1/4" of right thrust. Use a yard stick held over the fuselage to make sure the prop is in the centre. You will have to move the back of the motor mount up and to the left. to accomplish this. The final right thrust is done by pulling the aircraft up into a vertical climb and chop the engine. If it always falls the same direction then you know which way to adjust the thrust.
