If you need/want good quality prescription lenses for fat shark or quanum or head play, these guys makes them

http://rho-lens.com

These are real polycarbonate eyeglass lens that Cnc machined to fit googles rather than glass. The offer full range of prescriptions including astigmatism and other corrections.

But! I find wearing glasses with it makes me motion-sick for some reason. I tried it without any lenses, just 3+ reading glasses, and I lasted about one minute. It wasn't as bad with a lens and my prescription reading glasses. It seems to work better for me with just a better quality, higher magnification Fresnel lens. I have the Pro lenses, but I don't find them that great either.

I have moved the monitor to the outside of the V2 housing to get a bit more distance to the screen.

I have good distance vision still, but need 1.5x reading glasses for up close. I'm finding FPV a bit of a struggle.

Almost makes me think I'd be fine and almost better off with the fatsharks then and the magnification lenses they use or whatever it is(I'm guessing this is actually the Fresnel lens you spoke of)
well I was able to try on a set of the v2's(not pro's) on sunday with my glasses and was VERY impressed.

I also had the chance try a set of headplay's, and eachine 007's and vr d2's, and the quanum v2's were by far the best fitting and most comfortable!!

Since it wasn't the pro version that I tried, I don't even think he had the additional lens in his and his screen was in the stock position im pretty sure and it was perfect viewing it with my glasses so makes me think i should maybe just leave the screen in the stock position and not even use any magnification lens.

So what does moving the screen out do anyway?

Bout to order a pair myself

Re: Low cost HK Quanum FPV kit

I had a batch (6) of the quanum 200mW txs .
The all died in the same way.
A little chip in the power supply portion of the board would blow.
Perhaps voltage spike from damped light escs?
I will never buy them again!

Since you could get a better quality(or should be at least) Vtx from rotorquest for not much different $$, that's what I would be going with instead.

So what does moving the screen out and making the focal point out further do anyway?

Re: Low cost HK Quanum FPV kit

Depending on your RX having the screen further/closer may mean you have perfect viewing with just your glasses on vs needing the fresnel lenses as well. Thats what I understand anyways. My HK quanum goggles fit over my glasses quite well and no mods to the screen location. I did have to clean up the wiring a bit to declutter them.

Even with the max magnification Fresnel or "Pro" lens, I need the screen further away to get it in focus without strain. I'm 61, and I cannot focus closely any more, although my vision past 2m is still very good without glasses. I need glasses to even focus on my desktop computer screen.

Many people have this problem with FPV goggles, which is why many are even adding more length to the box of the Quanum goggles to get the screen further away. I see Quanum's new goggles have a longer box, but don't seem to have any focus adjustment?

Re: Low cost HK Quanum FPV kit

cool, thats helpful.

the ones I tried by another member were the original v2's, and I guess I'll probably be starting in the stock screen position without probably any of the pro lenses because they seemed pretty good while wearing my Rx glasses

Re: Low cost HK Quanum FPV kit

now if only HK's website wasn't soo fudged up and they're trying to charging almost DOUBLE for these Quanum v2's/v2 pro's now!!!!...Freaking Bull Poop!!

They were in my cart the night the site went down for somewhere between $31-34(can't remember exactly)...and now it shows you can buy them for $45.60...MEANWHILE the cheapest you can get them in your cart for is $54.02.

I'm argued up and down the block with these retards to the point of being on the verge of popping a vessel lolol, and have gotten absolutely no where
