Ya I have a foam cutting bow too.

Making wing cores aint so bad. Mkaing a decent fuse I found a little harder. Maybe a flying stick would be a good place to start? Or balsa fuse and foam wing cores.

GWS E-Starter was my first aileron plane and I still fly it regularly(50 flights on it).

Mine has the eps-350 motor set up and flies great on 2s lipo.

If you get one of the newer ones with the eps-400 motor you will need 3s lipo or at least 8cell nimhs.(not AAA as they cannot put out the needed 9-10 amps the 400 needs).

Great little plane I have flown it in 25kph winds and it is still in one piece.

3D Foamy

Take a look at Levi offers up plans for free and there's lots of variety. The planes fly really well are more stable and easier to see at altitiude because ot their larger size than Shocky's. The motors of choice are of course brushless outrunners such as Oilmans T6/20 and T15/13 Typhoon both of which work well with two cell lipo's (pick ones that will deliver 10 amps) and 11 or 12 inch diameter shallow pitch props and the HET 10 amp ESC. Don't be put off by the talk of 3D Flight being difficult as at the speed these planes fly you'll have no trouble progressing into that flight regime or if you prefer they will thermal and you glide around for hours per charge (Its different going straight up to altitude then gliding) The planes can be built from blue fan fold or foam poster board or you can order laser cut kits with carbon fibre landing gear etc. from Levi as well. Or if you are in hurry get Oilmans HET Foamy with motor and ESC its a great flyer too.
