FPV race tracks

Curious to know what guys are racing around, through etc.
We have a wide open field, albeit with some swampy areas and some rolling terrain. (which causes radio signal loss as we learned!)
For gates, we just set-up some frames from an old 10'x10' tarp shed. The idea will be to cover the frame in pool noodle or similar high viz soft material. The steel pipe frame is not very forgiving to arms and props! How you can hit the post every time you go through it is beyond me!
Here's a link to our track.
Its 450m long, give or take. I have yet to make it around trying to go through the gates, about 40 feet above them following the mowed path is hard enough for now!
I'm curious to know what others have for tracks!

Re: FPV race tracks

Buy some pool noodles at the dollar store and put them around your aluminium poles. Your racer will fare much better when you hit. Your doing it right though with having gates. Simply racing around poles with nothing to fly through makes learning throttle control very difficult. Keep practising, it will come. Also try using DAL V2 "Unbreakable" props. They do very well in pole strikes, at least from my experience.

Re: FPV race tracks

Interactive terrain is a special kind of fun. The guys I've raced with found a neat site with a hill of topsoil 20' tall, and a trench run. Add a few flags and hoops and it's like flying around on the Death Star. But you're right - gotta watch out for signal loss if you fly too deep in the trench!

I finally got up the nerve to fly slow and easy beneath and between trees. If the lowest branches are roughly 8', then it's a great place to learn throttle management. It's kind of like flying through some of the more congested sceneries in FreeRider.

Re: FPV race tracks

If you have an old tent to sacrifice, fibreglass tent poles with pool noodles over them work great as an arch. I made the mistake of not putting the pool noodle on one time... Don't be like me, lol.
