Fibreglass and such in Mississauga

This is probably old news to many of you long term modelers, but for relative newbies like myself (just in my 3rd season) this may be usefull.

I have been wanting to do some cowls, fairings, etc in fibreglass for some time, but was not sure where to go for materials. Canadian tire fender patch kits are good for quick and dirty small jobs, but .......

Anyway, I had an outfit called Composites Canada recommended to me, and I went there today. A VERY positive experience!! Tim, the chap who served me was knowledgable, helpful and very pleased to offer whatever tips I could absorb. I explained what I was about, and he tuned right in to show me what he felt would give me best results for least outlay. They have glass in many weights and types, woven carbon fiber and all the necessary resins, catalysts, measuring tools and on and on.

I walked out with with a smile on my face and everything I need to build several cowls for just over 30 bucks (oh yes, that includes a bucket of micro ballons as well, $6.50) .

They are at 5205 Timberlea Blvd in Mississauga.
That's east of the 403, north of Eglinton, south of Matheson, on the east side.

I've been there several times and always left with a lot more knowledge then when I walked in. They're good people who treat you right even when you're only buying small quantity.

Dave: this is perfect for me! I've done a bit of foam experimentation, and I need some 0.5 oz cloth.

For those in the east end that can't get out there before the 6:00 (monday to friday hours I think). There is a place at Sheppard and the Allen called Plastic World, and although they don't have all the stuff that the Composites Canada has I have found their selection good enough for me.
