Dynatron starter

Just wandering what would be a good size lipo battery for this starter.

Depends on your requirements. This will take up to a 6S, but may spin pretty quickly.

I have their red starter box with indicator and have a 4S 3000 LiPo in it:


It cranks everything in my fleet, including both Saito 125's.
I know there's money in aviation........I put it there!

I use 4S in mine. 4S5000. I'm sure I can use a battery 1/2 the size as as I do now and it would still work great.

Some guys are using 3S 1800 packs on their electric starter and they use it all day without recharging.

With reservation I am using a 5S 4500 lipo on my starter. Too fast in my opinion for my application. I would not want to damage the lipo with the real possibility of a fire.

Been using one of these since they 1st came out.


I've owned my starter for many years and I finally have a perfect match for a battery

I did change to XT-60 Connectors....

Always leery of using LiPo's......how about A123's, which normally power an incredible variety of power tools similar in nature to the starter in question:
