Phaeton Bipe

I have built a Phaeton Bipe and have had two successful "trim" flights with it. It has proven to be a dream to handle on the ground and take-offs are smooth and steady. I found I had to add a lot of down trim into the elevators. I suspect that is because I made the ailerons level with the bottom of the airfoil rather than using the top surface. It looks like there is some up aileron on both sides.

I set up the throws as suggested, but elected to use the dual rates on for the ailerons just so I wouldn't over control with them. This proved to be a wise decision.

I have yet to put the cowl on because I want to finish it with the same colour scheme as the plane. However, I don't want to fork out the cash for four tins of spray-on paint (one primer) if I can cover it with the ultra cote. Any suggestions as to how to do this?

Great Flying to all
