Re: Polecat - anyone?

There have been Canadians at the last three Polecat ALES contests at least, but I don't think I've ever seen any of them post here.

Have you looked at the thread on RCG?

Re: Polecat - anyone?

Yes, usually around 6 from the Ottawa - Montreal group attend to Polecat. Next year Polecat moves to a new site not far from where it used to be. I've never been there myself, but I know many of the pilots there. It is _very_ competitive. Of course there are pilots of all skills level, but to compete for the top 10, you just can't miss a single round or you're out.

Note that we now have a major Canadian competition in the East too, the Lacolle International August 26-28. More info and registration here https://www.rcflightdeck.com/event.cfm?id=4888 We have experts AND sportsman class, so anyone can have fun and come back home with new skills.

Re: Polecat - anyone?

This years Polecat was won by Paul Naton again. He won flying my favorite glider Euphoria. 4m incredible machine, which I fly myself and some members of our COGG club. I have to give a plug here to Alex, Euphoria is available in Canada from http://soarerf3j.wix.com/rcaerohobbycanada because it is a totally amazing plane to fly.

Paul just posted article on his website about Polecat and competition tips if you want to read it here.

Re: Polecat - anyone?

I rarely check RCCanada these days but I just happened to see this. I have been going to Polecat for the last 3 years. It's a really awesome contest. If you are into ALES I highly recommend it. It blew my mind the first time I went. It's extremely high caliber. But there are plenty of average pilots too so no one should feel intimidated to attend. There is usually a good contingent of Ottawa & Montreal area pilots who go. It's loads of fun. It will be a new location next year, in Lancaster Pennsylvania.

If you have any questions let me know!
