Is it just me or does it seem wrong to pay $1200 for a foam jet?

Check out Global Jet Club's new toys, with turbine, just under $3,000.00 USD

Re: Foam jets

Even some of the 1.5m foam planes Horizon sells seem ridiculous.

Re: Foam jets

More info here, not a fan of foam but it's a quick way into jets a relatively inexpensive way.

Re: Foam jets

Don't really care how good some of them fly, up close they still look like an oversized airhog and I would never want to spend a large amount of money on something that gets hangar rash from the bugs it hits in flight. Doesn't matter how careful you are with them, just handling them makes them show wear.

Re: Foam jets

I think that the offerings from Global Jet Club are pretty awesome, and a great incentive for EDF flyers to transition into turbines. Further to that, many EDF flyers are more comfortable with a foam based airframe (or at least I am), so again this makes the transition into a turbine aircraft easier.

Re: Foam jets

Just a waist of money.
To have a turbine in a foam jet, you got to be NUTS.
Heating issue right off the BAT!!!!!!
Everyone knows that heat and foam = MELTDOWN
My opinion.
Might as well get a second hand jet on this site for that price.

Just think about it

If the jet is designed right and there is proper cooling airflow between the turbine and the fuselage, and the thrust tube and fuselage, there is no reason why a foam jet cannot work.
