Thanks Larry

Ottawa Valley Jets is a team effort that took over a years work
Working with the Airport Management, MAAC, Sponsors and then getting press in local
news papers and finally doing Event Displays at the CFB Trenton Airshow and
Vintage Wings to get the word out to the public.

We totally understand what the pilots would like from us but if want to continue
flying at CARP we take the deal given to us. If anyone has a better place we can
fly from in the Ottawa area we would like to hear from you. IF you want to be part
of the team that helps us we want to hear from you

If you have all the answers but don't want to do the work - stay at home

Thanks Larry I know you understand as Larry sat in on the meetings and was part of TEAM OVJ - Larry is our Photo Man - Best Photo man in this Hobby - The Airport management will likely use his photo's to promote the Airport to the community and what it can offer - This past event has already has generated offers of new sponsorship - We are just getting started on 2017 and we are pushing for 2 days say a Friday as a Practice Day and an Airshow on the Saturday - But att its still one day

Re: Ottawa Valley Jets 2017

Just my two cents....but what if we asked some of the full scale owners to participate .Make it a mixed airshow there are some intersting aircraft housed there.I seen a couple RV8 and a russian jet trainer.Maybe they would be more willing to make it a two day event if they could show off there hardware.

Re: Ottawa Valley Jets 2017

Hi Greg

MAAC will not allow any RC planes to be mixed with full scale in any way shape or form after a $50,000.00 accident occurred years back when a Avro-Arrow crashed into a Harvard

They airport already have a "Carp Airport Family Day" for the local full size stuff. In fact it was because of that family day having an RC demo we were able to approach the airport for the jets. Again it would end up being one day RC and one day Full Scale. We do believe the Airport would like to bring back a full size airshow to Carp in the future but airshows get expensive with pilot fees rain/shine and insurance.

So to follow the letter of the law with Transport Canada the airport needs a NOTAM in place for the jets
to fly - We had to do this also last year in Iroquois - At Iroquois we had 48 hours Friday Noon to Sunday Noon. But Iroquois is a tiny out of the way place with very little traffic.

Re: Ottawa Valley Jets 2017

Hi Guys

Well the 2016 jet rally season is near its end so Ottawa Valley Jets exc

President Brent Norman
Vice Pres Jeff Daly
Event Director/ Sec Ken Park

Had a meeting with the Carp Airport Manager and we hashed out what we can do for 2017

#1 Change of date to earlier in June - We are pushing for Father Day weekend
Times avail would be:

Practice Flying: Friday 16th from 5pm - Dark
Flying: Saturday 17th from 9am - Dark - with 1 hour stoppage at noon for
local traffic to come/go all part of NOTAM

If we find a major conflict of dates with other events we are able to adjust one week
before or after that weekend we want.

We are sorry for the limit flight times but reality is Carp is expanding with more and more
companies with major flights - This year alone the airport added about 30 new big money clients. 3 new Hangers are going up

One Major generous item is the Airport will donate free jet-A to all the pilots who want it again
I think there was a total 200 gal limit cap .

Cheers
Ken Park
