I've got two turnigy chargers. I bought a bunch of a123 cells from a fellow here on rc Canada. The 2200 were OK the 1100 go out of balance. Turnigy lipo I've got some puffed. Some dropped cells. Sick of electric it doesn't work for me. More cheap junk just makes bigger smoke. I found some NIMH at harbour freight . Cycle out at 2189 with 600mah discharge. Ignitions are t
4.8-6 volt. I'm steering clear of anything over 50cc. Props are too expensive engines are crazy price now. Etc 2200 aa123 DeWalt cells in a carden h9 yak. Huge rudder servo three flights and a top off if ya want more.

Accucell 6 and turnigy 8 amp they work OK .

Going ignition on 4 strokes the newer a123 and garphene may be better to just run one battery. Dle 20 is going to be my size limit in future

Re: Understanding HV sytems

Still seem to be some misconceptions regarding HV setups. For one, Life/A123 batteries are just as suitable for 6v servos as are Nimh and NiCad without a BEC. Secondly, for anything modern you don't need a "HV" receiver, I've never seen one that can't handle a 2 cell lipo.

I can't honestly say that I've had great luck with Life batteries, but not any worse than Nimh. However, I've had great luck with Lipo and if treated properly I find them to be very reliable. I'll only buy HV servos going forward because I much prefer dealing with Lipo over any other current battery chemistry. A good balance charger will keep them balanced, storage charge them and give you an indication of the health of each cell every time you connect them. This is in addition of course to the other advantages listed in this thread. Quality lipos are also affordable, you can get Pulse 2550mah 2S lipos for under $25 CAD and the cells are near perfectly matched.
