JR 10X radio mixing issue.

Need some good advise on the JR10X radio. I am using 2 servos for my flaps, and I had them programmed to ch6(flaps) and ch8(aux3) on JR 10ch rec.
I have flown the plane and flaps worked just fine. I must have inadvertantly changed something as now the servo on ch6 does not move, and Ch8 the "slave" servo moves very little.
I have reprogrammed the mix of ch6(flaps) and 8(aux3) several times with no luck. I plugged new servo directly into receiver to eliminate any wiring issues or servo issue, and have now tried with another reciever(same JR 10 ch) with new servos plugged in direct. Same reaction. Ch 8 works, 6 does not. All other mixes work as expected. Doing something wrong but??????????????
I'd pull out my hair but haven't got enough to get hand around!!
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Arnold

On the mixing screen, are both mixing values the same? eg +100, and +100?

Re: JR 10X radio mixing issue.

First thing I would do is just use one servo in the flap channel (6) and figure out why that channel isn't working. Seems very odd that it would work at one time and then stop. Were you playing around in the programming? Make sure that the flap sys is activated, I've fought with trying to make flaps work in the past and after hours discovered that the flap sys wasn't on. I think (but don't remember for sure) that setting is in the menu that come up when you hold down the menu button (?) and turn the radio on.
I also suggest since you're basically trying to figure it out from square one again unhook the linkages so that you don't stall the servo.
Been a long time since I used a 10X but what a great radio it is. Only thing that frustrated me is certain aux channels couldn't be used as a slave for mixing certain other channels.

Thanks everyone for ideas' and suggestions. I have it working again. Tried just about everything, obviously not the right thing, until like midnight. Then I reset all the data for this model. First thing I did was program in my flaps and voila they worked. Whether it was a glitch or something don't know but it now works just fine. Guess radio is after all just a computer!!! What a pain.
Oh well raining today so will spend the day reprogramming stuff, with some wanted changes.
P.S. I did save all data prior to resetting thank goodness.
Thanks again all.

Re: JR 10X radio mixing issue.

Glad you were able to get it working again. Might be interesting to install the old data in a separate slot and compare to see if you can identify the problem.

Do you have the Datasafe setup? Mine has the parallel plug which is getting pretty rare on the back of PC's so I grabbed an adapter to try and mod it for USB.

Re: JR 10X radio mixing issue.

Cougar. I do not have the datasafe. Good old pen and paper. Wasn't hard to reload really. Only had small amount of data as first flights of this model was just Friday and weather has sucked ever since.
But have to agree that there are definitely some weird programming methods in this radio.
I seem to recall you making me aware of that. Other than the few quirks, and no back light, I actually like the radio.
Thanks for your time and help.

Re: JR 10X radio mixing issue.

Yeah, the Tx feels substantial and I like the antenna setup. What I did not like was finding after it was delivered there is aircraft or heli, but not both and no way to increase memory capacity over 10 slots.

Good luck and hope you have more success with it than I did.

Yup. Never thought I would need a radio with more than 10 channels but I am using all 10 on my Stinson SR9. The gas engine uses up 2 extra channels with the kill switch and choke that a nitro would not use. Have to stay creative on this winters Mr Aerodesign Beaver on floats if I use retractable rudders, landing lights, video cam, etc. Promised my wife this would be all the radio I ever needed. Mmmmmmm!!!!
