Jim - I think we started with 16 pilots but then lost three over the course of the weekend with plane issues. So ended up with 13 who finished the rounds Sunday.

Basic - 6 started down to 5
Sportsmen - 4 started down to 3
Intermediate - 4 started down to 3
Unlimited - 2

Ahhh I relish those good old Road Warrior days of Basic.

Spent my weekend in two Emerg rooms.

Home now but no flying today and such a nice day, figures!
Jim: The emerg room?? You alright?

Re: NOIC Sault Ste. Marie

Jim you missed an epic day of flying, I don't think there has ever been a better day of flying by anyone anywhere in this hobby. Too bad you missed it.

Heard you're on your knees too much at work, I knew it!

Glad you are ok, Cheers

Steve epic day of flying at SMAC or weekend in the Soo?

Had possible DVT (bold clot) scare in my left leg as extremely swollen and could not walk on it. Turns out is probably something called Baker's Sys (Google it). Just taking Advil (ibuprofen) for next few days and observing.

Put a kibosh on my dock rebuild at the cottage.

Leg feels much better now and I can actually walk again!

Northern Ontario IMAC Challenge

A great event; thanks to all the competitors who travelled here.
Only issues were when the CD crashed Steve Dew's new Aeroworks into a tree. And Kent had a flame out and strained his through the willows. No water problems.

We will need to discuss the Can-AM; America's Cup component over the winter.

Overall, there were 16 pilots flying in the Northern Ontario IMAC Challenge contest. In no particular order they were: Bill Teeter, Brendan Grace, Bryan Mailloux, Cecil Marshall, Craig Knight, Dan Reichert, Dave Derbyshire, David Mott, Hugh Harrison, Kent Fabbro, Lee Prevost, Paul McMilllan, Robert Willis (U), Steve Daly, Steve Dew and Steven Ruxton. These pilots flew a grand total of 288 judged sequences.

Dan Reichert won the Basic class. There were 6 pilots in Basic. The winning order was: (1) Dan Reichert, (2) David Mott, (3) Dave Derbyshire, (4) Hugh Harrison, (5) Cecil Marshall and (6) Steve Dew. They flew 8 known sequences (4 rounds) and 1 unknown round. The scores ranged from a low of 1,548.8 to a high of 7,500 (a range of 5,951.2 points).

Robert Willis (U) won the Sportsman class. There were 4 pilots in Sportsman. The winning order was: (1) Robert Willis (U), (2) Steven Ruxton, (3) Steve Daly and (4) Kent Fabbro. They flew 8 known sequences (4 rounds) and 1 unknown round. The scores ranged from a low of 2,820.2 to a high of 7,500 (a range of 4,679.8 points).

Bill Teeter won the Intermediate class. There were 4 pilots in Intermediate. The winning order was: (1) Bill Teeter, (2) Brendan Grace, (3) Paul McMilllan and (4) Craig Knight. They flew 8 known sequences (4 rounds) and 1 unknown round. The scores ranged from a low of 833 to a high of 7,500 (a range of 6,667 points).

Bryan Mailloux won the Unlimited class. There were 2 pilots in Unlimited. The winning order was: (1) Bryan Mailloux and (2) Lee Prevost. They flew 8 known sequences (4 rounds) and 1 unknown round. The scores ranged from a low of 6,467 to a high of 7,314.4 (a range of 847.3 points).

Bill Teeter won the Seniors class. There were 8 pilots in Seniors. The winning order was: (1) Bill Teeter, (2) Steve Daly, (3) Hugh Harrison, (4) Cecil Marshall, (5) Lee Prevost, (6) Kent Fabbro, (7) Steve Dew and ( Craig Knight. They flew 8 known sequences (4 rounds) and 1 unknown round. The scores ranged from a low of 119.744 to a high of 1,000.000 (a range of 880.256 points).

The tightest competition was for 4th place in the Basic class, with only 25.234 points difference between Hugh Harrison and Cecil Marshall.
