1942 kit in the good old days

I thought I'd piece together this bit about the good old days.
When there was actually something to read in magazines, and
a 7 oz. bottle of pop satisfied.
The model kits ? ..... that isnt balsa the razor blade is on, rather,
a real hard poster board 1/16 " thick. How a 12 year old kid
tackled that ????

A motor?
Well, I took a closer look at the plans for the 1942 Comet kit.
As the old saying goes, "we've come a long way baby"

Re: 1942 kit in the good old days

That is real thing! I remember those days, dad was off to war and grandad got me going. I remember taking little slices of skin off my finger using the two sided blue blade. Made lots of models that way. Still like the double sided blade. Rubber power, good old stand by!
