Thank you guys for the replies to my questions & comments . We will not be giving up . The modified Electra is ready to go again & I am making the required repairs to the Golden Eagle . I did not put the release on the same function for the two gliders & I am going to change that . If I had of hit the glider release quicker I am sure it would have been OK . Going to discuss the flight plan before take off every time now also .
Long weekend weather here is not great , hope to be flying Monday though .

Re: Amazing Aerotowing Experience

Robert,

During the tow, stand beside the tug pilot so you can communicate easily. Gentle turns and try just holding things straight into the wind to help the climbrate. The fewer turns on tow the better off you will be. Easy on the rudder as well.

Good luck and have fun!

Re: Amazing Aerotowing Experience

BoatCrazy,

The first thing is to get the guys at your power field interested in towing you, then when they see how much fun you are having, they will want to try it from the other end of the towline!

Re: Amazing Aerotowing Experience

Hey , thanks for the input . We towed the modified Electra three times last weekend without any problems . This time we took the glider off from the ground , headed straight into the wind & did not make any turns . Worked great . Next time we try it we will continue to practice like this but start to add some gentle turns . Last time there was no lift that we could find , hopefully next time the air will be better .

Thanks for sharing the link to the photos , great stuff . Maybe when I retire I may get to attend some of these events .
