Always make sure that your glow plug starter is fully charged and also your starter battery . I use a few drops of lighter fluid in the engine carburetor and turn it over by hand to draw the fluid into the top of the piston then I use the glow starter to get the engine to start. Try not to get fuel on your hands and avoid the prop blast from the engine as both will freeze your fingers fast. I wear the brown gloves that you can get from any dollar stores . I like Andrews idea of fueling up the plane at home then going out to the field to fly. Try to get sunglasses that have side shields so that the wind does not make your eyes tear up. Dress warm and bring a thermos of coffee to warm up insides and hands with hot cup. Be sure not fly alone ,bring a friend for fun and safety.

And keep your transmitter warm between flights by putting it in your car or the clubhouse - after turning it off!

The sooner you fall behind, the more time you will have to catch up.

Hey do you guys use aluminum tape or anything on your engine to keep it running warmer in the winter time?

Someone once told me to wrap elastics around the cylinder in winter, if they get too hot they just break off. My all time favorite tip for winter is to pour hot water on the cylinder head ( i bring a 2nd thermos) and you have starts like summer.
