I recently bought a second hand Real Flight G2 from another modeler.

I've tried in vain to get this game runing on my PC? The game is completely installed and when you go to start it say's it loading and then you get about a second of music and it just quits. AuuuugH!

I got window XP with SP2 and I've been reading the SP2 is a pain for alot of gamer?

I know its not my hardware as all my equip is well above the min requirements.

Also the G2 websight wont let me register my G2 Auugh Can't get any upgrades/or fixes etc.

Signed Frustrated!

Hi Ken

I had heard there was an XP upgrade/patch for G2. If you purchased the unit used, then the seller must contact RealFlight and unregister themselves prior to you registering. When I got mine, it wouldn't let me use it until it was registered; not sure if that's changed. As I recall there was a number to call if you didn't have internet but it was awhile ago. The seller should unregister so you can take full advantage of it

There is a very strong possibility it is simply a video card driver issue.
I have seen this happen twice. The second time my father tried to run it after installing SP2 on XP. Installing current video card drivers solved the G2 startup problem.

If it has wings, rotors or two wheels, I'm interested!

I found my G2 quits when I have my anti-virus on, when I disable it, it runs fine.

Try the XP patch first. I had the same issue and it resolved the problem for me. And I run it on XP SP2.

Updating video, DirectX drivers is always a good thing to do as well.

Oh great are the days when my takeoffs equal my landings!!!

I would check with whoever sold it to you and make sure he deregisters it. It sounds like the seller failed to do this since you cant register the sim yourself. If it isn't registered it WILL NOT work. This is what Great Planes tech people told me as I am getting ready to install my G2 on a friends machine, and had to give them permission to remove the registration so it would work on my friends system
