Depends on where in Toronto you are. Pinnacle hobbies - 16th ave and Markham road (north side just west of Markham road)

You should also check out A&J, especially if you have electric tastes.

Hello rv:

Bienvenido a Canadá! I don't know if I’d call Hobby Hobby the "best," but they are certainly worth a visit. They are well stocked, have competitively priced products and knowledgeable and friendly staff. I was there just this past Monday and was able to pick-up everything I needed. They are located in Streetsville, just west from Toronto; about 15 mins west of the Pearson Airport. Take hwy 401 west to exit 336. South off exit 336 to the second stop lights. Turn left on to Queen Street. The address is 128 Queen and the shop is located in a small outdoor mall area. You can't see the shop because it's tucked away in a corner. Enjoy your visit to Canada

I am assuming that you are staying downtown? If so there are not any stores that are even close to the down town core or are really accessible by the TTC. The ones listed above are all good choices and A&J and Pinnacle are relatively close to each other.

Rafael's Vacation

I was trying to assist Rafael before he came to Canada and suggested he link up to RC Canada. I live in Kitchener and not much help as to the location of all the stores in Toronto - the information I gave him came out of the MAAC magazine.

For those who want to know his location, he is staying very close to Woodbine and Danforth. He would like to know if there are any shops or modeling in that area, or easy access by subway.

Any club contacts, or swap meets, may also be of interest to him.

I think he will be in Canada for a while - Rafael, can you tell us how long?

Any help you can give him would be appreciated.

All three (AJ,pinnale, hobbyhobby) are all very good hobby stores. To me the most interesting is AJ hobbies. They have cool things you just don't see anywhere else! Good luck and have fun.

There's a small shop on Dansforth, you'd have to look up the address. It's John's Photo and Hobby. Not loads of stuff but would be local and is near a subway as I recall.

Pinnacle Hobby would require a Go train ride and they are not far from there. Basically just go to Union Station on the subway and get a go train. is the website address.

A&J and Hobby Hobby are near forms of public transit but not quite as direct. You would have to check the transit systems for details.

I used to ride the subway to Keith's Hobbies up in North York (just a minute walk from the subway station) when I was attending U of T in the late 80's/early 90's... it was kind of a neat little shop but I dont know if it exists anymore... anyone know?
