Sukhoi Su- 26M Plans

Found them in an Aug. '94 Model Aviation mag. 76" ws, 8-9 lbs. , for .90 to 1.08 2-strk, 1.2 fs, built up contruction. No wing area given but using a ruler marked in 16ths. looks like about 855 sq. ins. So at the high end of the weight range that's a 24 oz. wing loading. Sounds good on paper.
Any thoughts or comments ? Anyone actually built or flown one from this plan ?

I just got the plans in from MAN after ordering them out of the December Plans Issue.

I was a little dissapointed that it was more scale like especially in the cowl area. I mean that's where the Sukhoi series of a/c really have most of there character.

I tried a CG SU26 cowl over the firewall template I made but it was eally stretching it too much. That big bulbous Cowl and Canopy is what give it character in my opinion. I was going to start it right away but I want to do something with the cowl area before I start. Either have someone custom make me one or do a mould myself. Same with the canopy. They are listing an ACE canopy but they don't make them anymore.

I really like the twin seat Russian Aerobats. I currently am assembling an Extreme Flight 68" Yak 54 and I am about to order their 87" version for the DA50 I got sitting around.

Another mod I want to do on the SU-29 is to make a two piece wing with an AL or CF wing tube. Not a plug in but two pieces slide together then bolt the whole wing like on the plans or similar. I also want to change the gear from mounting on the wing to fuse mounted just like on the H9 73" Cap 232. I did pickup a set of AL landing gear intended.

If you don't decide to build this I wouldn't mind getting the magazine with the construction article in it.

Well gotta go work on the Yak .. Yak.... Yak.. Attack!
