not sure why you wud use white gas for gasoline 2 stroke motors over premium gas which has no alcohol. the only advantage might be that white
wud not go stale. White gas may pre-ignite with a hot plug as the compression rating is quite low.

Re: Fuel Mix for Weedeater Engines

Lot of people use white gas to avoid the smell of pump gas. I use pump gas and put in some Power Plus Groovy Grape. The back of my truck smells like grape instead of gas.

Trying to keep the smell down.
Where do you buy this additive? That place on north Albert St?
Does can Tire have stuff like this?

PS. Enjoyed the awesome weather in Regina last weekend. No wind

Re: Fuel Mix for Weedeater Engines

sorry didn't read that the original post was about the smell issue as was not stated but rather one vs the other regarding performance . I see that Home Depot is selling some sort of gas in small containers but pricey. Haven't checked that close but probably has good shelf life if kept sealed or when left in motor fuel tanks.

Talking to my small engine guy the other day and he advises that this is the first year that Shell will not guarantee their premium ethanol free and up to now they were the only ones to do so. I try to use avgas as much as possible.

I had to order it from Amazon.ca.

I must have missed you last weekend, I didn't see anyone new.

Re: Fuel Mix for Weedeater Engines

No, I mean new as in the sense of it being the same people out there every weekend, not new as in new member/pilot.
