So in a nutshell, would you say, the problems lie with:

1. Some Rx's identified as faulty (encompassing all the FCC guys with planks that reported issues???????)

2. LBT Firmware pre .18 (so nothing to do with 2db lower output power of EU version)

3. Some actually faulty Tx's that need to be returned. (no different than any product that has some faulty items that get warranty return)

If all that is true I just need to hear from Eva.

I have not had a lot of chance to try it out, but some range tests with X8R for the purpose of comparing Internal to External yielded me about 50m.

Did not seem to be any real difference of INT vs EXT for me.

Updating to .18 made no range difference but RSSI seemed to show more meaningful numbers on the display.

Back to top point; would you send that X8R back for warranty/repair?

Send your 8XR back.

Communicating with Eva on these issues will be referred to Adela and will go silent.

It's already being investigated.

Wow. That's quite a large range check criteria. Based on how much the power is reduced and other brands is totally different I guess. Will have to try out some other Rx's in the stable to see how they do.

You mean this issue with "range problem" was reffered to Adela or the ISED matter?

Re: FrSky Horus Tx first production run being delivered

What I'm saying is, the investigation is being done by qualified people in the field already. Adding your voice will mean nothing since your Avenue of communication should be your dealer.

You were provided the contact info for a purpose, if you're no longer interested then that's a different story.

There is a reason I started the thread on RCG, it's to get config information so that the suspect setups can be identifies and isolated. Most issues were handled and addressed, now it's off to FPV setups to see what commonalities exist before coming to a conclusion or spreading FUD.

I also have videos showing the 330ft range checks on both the private Development page as well as my own page on facebook. Real world stuff not conjecture and speculation.

There's nothing wrong with coming up with a Hypothesis though and posting it in the Range Gathering - Info thread on RCG. If the Hypothesis has been done, they will tell you, if not it's a new one.

But the real place to put your concerns is in Github. Now that there's an open and public Github link, it's fair game.

Here is the official site where you should be reporting anomalies: https://github.com/FrSky-OS/X12S-bug-report

As I thought I understood. That is a totally different matter. I had no intention of bringing up the "range" subject. I guess just the name threw me. Interest on this end has not waned.

I don't see any reason yet to say there is anything wrong with my Horus. Will do some repeatable checks to see if there are actually any bad Rx's.

Rear Case Module bay too tight for some modules

The list goes on, but please rest assured, other than the firmware, the HW portion is bullet proof and Frsky have incorporated the changes to make this radio something special at the price point.
Interesting review from a very popular and well respected quadcopter tech blogger.

I guess i was not alone with the stick length and feel issues of the TX.

Re: FrSky Horus Tx first production run being delivered

Took it out for a spin on range check today. Standing facing Rx with Tx a bit higher than level, external antenna horizontal to the right.

85 meters and not calling critical RSSI, just 44ish.

Tx North, Rx South.

Indiscernible difference from internal to external.

Walking away with back to Rx went Telem Lost at about 40m, either antennae.

Tons of range.

I hear a firmware is coming for the frame bug.

Re: FrSky Horus Tx first production run being delivered

Reading today at some point there was new FW but seems nil-fix.

My Horus went back. I realized I don't have the time to deal with what it would take to get fully operational with it.

A real shame, sweet piece of hardware.
