Re: engine dies every landing

You may need to add more detail, such as craft, make and size of engine, etc. No way to offer suggestions with what you've posted.

Re: engine dies every landing

As you are doing your approach the engine is idling for a long time and may be loading up. Trying leaning the low end needle a 1/8 of turn.

There are two positives....you are saving on fuel plus getting some exercise all at the same time.

Needle valves definately need fine tuning.

Decathlon with DL 30, tried to lean it today, but the transition becomes a bit too slugish.

i have multiple gas plane, only this one does that, i tuned the engine to the best i know.

this stumps me.

If it is sluggish you are going the wrong way.

Re: engine dies every landing

When adjusting the low needle move it a screw driver blade and then try it, my buddy Rick always said you need to sneak up on the needle. I move needles 1/16 to 1/8 turn and fly. If you do a google search I think you will find pages of discussion about this issue.

Re: engine dies every landing

A guy at our field had the same problem (I think same engine), simple solution, the idle was too low. Bumped it up and problem was solved.
