Where I might find construction wood in Medicine Hat? I'm looking for some lite ply and various balsa sticks.
Thanks
Rod

Re: Anyone Know..........

I know my local Michael's has a wood assortment display from Midwest Products, and I see from a www search that there is one of their stores in the Southview Mall.

Re: Looking for Construction wood in Medicine Hat

Lite ply can be bought at your local lumber store, just look for Baltic Birch plywood. It comes in various thicknesses from 1/16 on up. The only issue is it comes in a 3 x 5 foot sheet.

As for balsa, unless you have an RC hobby store in town you will have to mail order and there are lots of options there. Hobby Wholesale and Great Hobbies in Edmonton and PM Hobbies in Calgary, There are others and I will probably get lots of heat for not mentioning them but these are stores i have dealt with over the years and they work well.

There are fewer of us "stick built" modellers every year with the advent of foamies but these stores have been around long enough to remember us.

Baltic birch is not quite the same as lite ply as it is heavier but it is much cheeper. Try to use it sparingly or employ the use lightening holes

Action Hobby as well as Modelland in Calgary sell liteply. I think Action is your best bet for mail order of balsa and liteply.
