Sorry William, let me clear things up. The os fs 61 has the o-ring leak and flys a H9 twist 40. The saito 125 flys the showtime. From the videos I've seen the saito should have all kinds of power for that 90 size airframe. Hope this clears it up. Thanks for the advise on checking the bearings I did do that on all the motor I got in the lot only one needed replacement( os 61 sf 2 cycle). I think I will clean the Intake tube and give it a lite coat of silicone. I picked up the last jug of 15% 4 stroke fuel in town. Hehe!!! Time to tune and fly.

Re: Os max 61 4 stroke.....help!!

I would run coolpower 4 cycle & os type-f plugs . and don't try to lean it out fully , let it run a little fat .The fs 61 is one of the sweetest running engines ever built and it loves that fuel and plug combo . it will run on other combos but not as well IMO . cheers Roger.

Re: Os max 61 4 stroke.....help!!

Thanks Roger, that is what I picked up is cool power 15% 4 stroke, pretty sure most of my issue( not that there were many) was old nitro and for 2 cycle. As I said the saito smoked like crazy. The OS pulls around that twist 40 very very nicely, could and will hover all day at just over 1/4 throttle. It helps that I've got the weight down to 4lbs 11oz.

Re: Os max 61 4 stroke.....help!!

My old OS .61 4 stroke always has been run on 10% CoolPower. Runs perfectly fine on that with a F plug.

My Showtime 90 started off with a Saito 125 but I swapped it out for an OS 120 2 stroke and liked that combo better than the Saito.

Re: Os max 61 4 stroke.....help!!

For what I'm keeping it for it will do fine. My son is working his way up to balsa gas/nitro so the showtime will be a nice starter plane. I picked the lot of 4 planes, 6-8 motors and 3 tool boxes, plus 2 boxes of odds and ends up for less than the cost of the saito. So the way it flys now will do, just in case he lawn darts it!!

Re: Os max 61 4 stroke.....help!!

Ok so had a chance last night to fire up the OS, imagine that with the valves adjusted and good clean fuel it fires right up. Actually had compression against the starter. Then it died cause the tune was out. Lol!! Set it up and what a difference did not get to fly it but leak seems to be gone and feels like it pulls harder. Should be fun.

That's good to here. My old .61 4 stroke is installed in a 40 size H9 P51 and pulls it around just fine. Great sound and just sips the fuel.

Thank Curt, have not flown the plane much with this motor on it, but it seems very close to the same consumption as the evolution 10gx it is replacing with more power!! The twist 40 is my go to winter plane it performs great with skis on.

Re: Os max 61 4 stroke.....help!!

Ok guys I've had a chance to really wire this motor out. I'm still having a leaking problem but not from the carb anymore. It's up on power after the fresh fuel and valve set but I'm now having a hard time setting the idle. I have to have it idled up quite a bit for it to stay running. The plane needs to be held even on gravel or it rolls away, plus it comes in pretty fast for landings. Not sure where to go now? When I pinch the carb line it runs for maybe 2-3 seconds then dies so I think I'm close on the needle? And it has the power to pull my twist 40 out of a hover. Thanks all
